's a look at the weather. let's check traffic with elizabeth. >> thanks. unfortunately we have big problems developing now in sunnyvale. we're talking about a jackknifed big rig right there approaching the lawrence expressway exit in the southbound lanes of 101. now, three lanes are blocked in the southbound direction. no reports of any injuries with this jackknifed rig or what exactly the truck was carrying but we know that traffic is just squeezing by right now partially in that left lane and the center divide. also the on-ramp, the lawrence expressway on-ramp to southbound 101 is completely blocked. 280 is the best alternate in the area. not big backups now but if this continues to be out there for a while which it sounds like it could, chp just issued a traffic alert for that stretch, they will just said that they are hoping to get lanes 30 to 40 minutes after the tow crew arrives arrives son scene. we are waiting for word for when the crew arrives and then it could be 40 minutes from then so this is going to be an issue for the start of the morning commute for sure. so 280 a good alter

below average. system kind of rotating around the big old low up in oregon is right there might produce more than just some low clouds for mendocino county and lake county. possible mostly cloudy skies later on as the tail end of that system kind of swings by. it's also not only giving low clouds but any time you get a little system coming in that enhances the drizzle. a lot of 50s out there with local drizzle and temperatures even with the overcast it's cool. and there's a no doubt about it sea breeze. boot scooting it all the way out to the sacramento valley. temperatures out there have come way down as well. that's pretty impressive system for this time of year. i mean last in june we had two of those systems that came down and visited us, gave us rain. remember rain beginning in june end of june. this time of year it's almost a miracle it makes it that far. the end result for us is a lot of low clouds and drizzle. very, very cool pattern for july. afternoon highs 50s 60s 70s i did go with one 80 that was clear lake but i almost went 79 there. and there will be 60s and 70s in between

trip. many on board are from northern california, tonight's big story we hear from family members of those on board. >> traumatic. >> some of his friends are missing. it's something different. details on the search. >> these photos from the mexican navy show survivors being rescued. this man is rescued on a stretcher, others get medical attention. it was supposed to be a 7 day trip but came to an end a day after. you can see the men crammed together, and some bowing their heads. this is a picture of the vessel that sank after being hit by storm. it happened sunday morning in mexico after a storm. there were 30 tourists on board. and 16 crew members. according to the website, it has been on the gulf of california since 1989. passengers say the boat was less than two miles from shore when it tipped over. a resident said i am relieved i am alive. monday the u.s. coast guard in san diego sent a helicopter like this one after the mexican navy asked for assistance. crews haven't found anybody in the water. kron 4 news. >>> the why of one man talked about the ordeal that her husband went

street is worried about washington. late wednesday moody's one of the big three credit rating agencies warning it might have to lower the rating if lawmakers don't come to an agreement on raising the debt ceiling. in the statement it said the action was prompted by the possibility that the debt limit woil not be raised in time to prevent a missed payment on u.s. bonds with a small but rising risk of ashort-lived default. economists say if the aaa rating is lowered it will throw the financial markets into chaos and the cost of borrowing would go up to everything from morlts to car loans. ben bernanke warned. >> i think the worst outcome if we don't raise the limit, at some point we default on debt and that would create as i said before, a huge financial calamity. >> reporter: sources say the president knew about the moody's warning as he headed into wednesday meeting which all sides describe as tense. republican majority leader eric cantor cited the president as saying i have reached my limit. he left saying i'll see you tomorrow. the two sides couldn't even agree about what happened in

to 19th avenue is completely shut down. maybe you can see cars going by okay so there are no big backups with this right now and you can continue using northbound 280 to head up into san francisco towards 101. it's that 19th avenue off-ramp that's flared off. it came in as a car versus pedestrian earlier. earlier a chp on scene told us this was a possible crime scene but right now it sounds like it was a pedestrian in the road and that's what happened. that's what caused this fatal accident. they gave us an initial opening time of 5 a.m. for when they could hopefully get that off-ramp open but as you can see, it's still closed. i talk to a chp officer a short time ago and they hope to open it any minute. so hopefully this won't be a major impact or cause major problems for the morning commute. right now, as your alternate, use junipero serra avenue or san jose avenue off-ramps as your alternates to get from daly city into san francisco. a lot of slick surfaces as gianna has been mentioning this morning. it is very drizzly out this morning so be extra careful for your morning drive. again
